Action News Now reporter Diego Moctezuma reports on the City of Chico's efforts to identify and address issues surrounding street lighting. Residents can take part in a survey where they can list out their areas of concern when it comes to lighting.

CHICO, Calif. - Monday marked the last opportunity for residents living in Chico to complete the City of Chico's Street Light Survey.

The City of Chico says they aim to address lighting issues throughout portions of the city and is seeking feedback from the community on which areas could use improvements.

During a meeting on May 6, the city council decided to reach out to districts to identify lighting issues and report back within 90 days. As a result, the city created the street light survey.

Once residents open the survey, they can provide their name, email address, home address, phone number, district, and any lighting concerns or suggested locations for new street lights.

Officials with the City of Chico will use the feedback to develop a plan to fix, replace, or add new street lights to areas around the city that need them.

The survey began in May and residents can report any and all broken street lights that they encounter or see by emailing [email protected].
